It's important to be able to view your data in as meaningful a way as possible. Several persons looking to
secure a quality LIMS product have asked about reporting and viewing capabilities. There are now so many
different ways to do this, via graphs and other graphical user interfaces.
A quality system will not only allow you to display your data in several ways, but it will also enable you to
'configure' and 'define' report layout, without you having to actually design a report from scratch.
Intelligent design of reporting software is one of the most essential parts of a LIMS system. When reporting is not
only fine tuned, but also easily re-tunable by the end users, it can save incredible amounts of man-hours. When
it is not fine tuned or re-tunable, you might be singing a different 'tune'. In the demo process, ask for several
different examples of reporting. Drill down as far as you can, because this is probably the most used feature of
any LIMS product.
